10th Nordic Conference on High Powered Computing announced

The 10th Nordic conference on High Performance Computing (PARA10) will
be held in Reykjavík, Iceland, 6-9 June.

 One of the keynote speakers will be John Michalakes, from NCAR in
 Boulder. Mr. Michalakes leads the working group responsible for
 software architecture, standards and implementation within the WRF
 atmospheric modeling project.
 
 The topic of his talk is "Towards Petascale for Atmospheric Simulations"

PRIMET brief MEPs

At a meeting held in the European Parliament on 2nd February 2010 and arranged through the PSI Alliance, PRIMET had the chance to brief several MEPs on the issues surrounding the re-use of meteorological data, including the competition issues with NMHSs and the data pricing issues.
