here are some points concerning the DWD behaviour recently:

First of all the special position of companies having a 'cooperation' with the German Weather Service, such as:

- wetter.com
- wetterspiegel.de
- MMC (now called Meteos)

They clearly do not pay for the data in full but are provided with the data by the commercial department of the DWD which, according to ECOMET rules, is not allowed, because it is a delivery to a service provider.

Secondly, the costs which have to be paid for data for using them in the products. They come above the 11% of turnover and can amount - in our case - to an increase of the data costs to 20% of our turnover. There are huge discrepancies here between  our position and the one of the DWD. For example if we want to provide yesterday's observations to a newspaper we have to pay 0,12 Euro extra (on top the data price for service providers) to the DWD. If the customer goes directly to the DWD he has only to pay a third (0,04 Euro).

Then we have another case of dumping and non-compliance to the DWD price-list. Axa, an insurance company is customer of ours. For the service they want there is an official price of 38,40 Euro per day. Yet the customer has been offered a service for 200 Euro per month from the commercial department of the DWD, on basis on which the customer has terminated the contract with us.
