Continuation of dialogue between PRIMET and ECOMET
firstly I would like to inform you that the PRIMET Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Milano on 24 February 2006 decided to appoint me as Secretary General of PRIMET. This appointment took effect immediately and continues at least until the next PRIMET AGM which will be held in Belgrade on 29 September 2006.
Secondly I can tell advise you that a PRIMET Board was established by the AGM with Jennie Campbell (Meteo Consult), Mette Krohn-Hansen (Storm) and Pirkko Saarikivi (Foreca) as members.
Furthermore the meeting decided that PRIMET should continue to pursue a constructive dialogue with ECOMET. However, it was felt that a meeting with the President of ECOMET and any key advisors would at this time be more appropriate than taking a further step towards the envisaged joint legal scrutiny process.
In practice this would mean, subject to your approval, that PRIMET mails an updated and revised position statement to ECOMET on 15 March 2006, as previously agreed, and that you in parallel deliver to us any documents you fell appropriate for a continued dialogue on how to promote and enhance our relations.
The next step, preferably to be taken at any early date before the summer, would be a further ECOMET-PRIMET meeting, perhaps this time in Helsinki in view of the fact that the previous meeting was arranged in Oslo.
