METEOLÓGICA S.A. was founded on July 1997. The company first client was the Spanish Meteorological Office (INM), which required the development of a high-resolution probabilistic precipitation prediction model. On April 2000, with the completion of the operative forecasting system, the company started the commercial offer of weather forecasting and consultancy services.

Currently, METEOLÓGICA's clients amount near one hundred private and public entities, and spread over different weather sensitive economic sectors: energy companies, wind farms, forest fire and risk protection departments of regional governments, water management agencies, agricultures, beverage and food manufacturers, etc...

METEOLÓGICA's staff consists of 13 people working in different areas: Meteorological and Derived Variables Forecasting (wind, hydrology, forest fire...), Analysis and Model Development in Weather Sensitive Contexts, Computing, costumer service and Administration.

EDUCATION

2004-2005 MBA at Madrid's Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI).
2003-2004 MSc. in Environmental Engineering and Management at EOI.
1993-2000 First Degree in Forestry Engineering (ETSI Montes) at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM).

WORK EXPERIENCE

Since 10/2001 Consultant Engineer in MeteoLógica SA, Madrid. Responsible for management and R&D in the company's renewables area, which provides forecasts and mathematical modeling services for the main energy companies in Spain and Portugal (REE, Iberdrola, ENDESA, EDP, Unión Fenosa, Hidrocantábrico, NUON, Vestas...). The most relevant activities in this area have been wind power generation forecasting, hydroelectric generation forecasting, power demand forecasting, and gas demand modeling, mostly in the Spanish markets.

3/2001 - 9/01 Responsible for execution of glued-laminated timber frameworks in Marquisa (Madera y Arquitectura SA), Vizcaya, Spain.

1999 - 2000 Work in UPM´s Department of Mathematics Applied to Natural Resources on the project Dynamic structure and optimization in the lignin metabolism with a scholarship of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Spain (MEC).
